Please read the following carefully. We look forward to receiving your application.
Note: this web page describes how to submit an on-line application. Letters of reference must still be submitted by USMail.
Missouri State University NSF CSEMS scholarship applicants must be accepted at Missouri State University, and have completed the FAFSA financial aid materials. The CSEMS scholarship application consists of a letter from the applicant (1-2 pages, see below for expected contents) and three letters of reference (preferably using the Confidential Reference Form).
The application for a CSEMS scholarship implies consent to the release of the student’s information for the purpose of evaluation by the Missouri State University CSEMS Committee or their appointed representatives.
The terms and conditions for scholarship awards are described at http://www.cs.missouristate.edu/CSEMS/FAQ.html. If awarded a scholarship, recipients must return a letter of acceptance of the scholarship and its conditions.
Minimum requirements for CSEMS scholarship awards at Missouri State University include United States citizenship or status as a US national, refugee alien, or permanent resident alien; financial eligibility; and academic potential, as demonstrated by such criteria as grade point average, class standing, or standardized test scores. This information will be obtained from the applicant’s existing records at Missouri State University, and formal documentation of this information is not part of the CSEMS application.
Both the student’s letter of application and the letters of reference should include: information that will allow the evaluation of academic motivation, ability, and aptitude in computer science or mathematics, as demonstrated by coursework, work experience, and/or extracurricular activity in technical areas.
The letters of reference may be mailed by the applicant, but must be confidential. After the referring person completes the reference, the letter should be placed in a sealed envelope with the referring person’s signature across the flap. The reference letter may either be mailed by itself or collected by the applicant for mailing as a complete body.
The letter of application (1-2 pages) and letters of reference should be submitted no later than (date to be determined) to be guaranteed consideration. Send application materials to:
