Missouri State Computer Science Department Ethics

The Computer Science Department at Missouri State University teaches students the computer and analytical skills needed for employment in a computer related field. Perhaps more importantly however, students are made aware of the ethical considerations that need to be addressed when creating software systems. With an entire course devoted to the study of these ethics, students are taught how to take an active role in improving society, rather than providing no improvement, or even causing harm.

Missouri State Computer Ethics

Missouri State also supports ethics in computing by developing and enforcing a Computer Usage Policy that all students are expected to abide by. Students who ignore this policy or abuse their computer privileges at Missouri State will have their accounts disabled, and be subject to penalties ranging from dismissal from the university to legal prosecution.
